Samsung Galaxy A Screen Replacement Cost UK: Every Model

A genuine Samsung screen replacement on a Galaxy A costs £114 to £164 from Samsung's own repair service, depending on the model. Independent repairers who fit genuine screens charge roughly £80 to £170, and shops fitting copy screens often charge less again. My own prices for a genuine Samsung screen are £79 on the A05s, A12, A13, A14, A15, A16, A22, A23 and A32 5G, £89 on the A17 and £99 on the A25, A26 and A27.

Most of the A3x, A5x and A7x models are a special case. The 4G A32, the A33 to A37, the A51, A52, A52s and A53 to A57, and the A71 and A72 have a fingerprint reader under the screen that needs calibrating after a replacement, which changes where you can get the job done properly. That's covered below.

Every price here was checked in September 2026. Samsung describes its figures as recommended prices that can change if more work is needed, so treat them as a guide.

Galaxy A3x, A5x and A7x

All of these have the fingerprint reader under the screen, except the A32 5G.

  • Galaxy A32 5G: Samsung £124. Mine: £79. The 4G A32 has an under-screen fingerprint reader, and I don't currently offer its screen.
  • Galaxy A33 5G: Samsung £134. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A34 5G: Samsung £139. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A35 5G: Samsung £144. Mine: coming soon, expected £109.
  • Galaxy A36 5G: Samsung £139. Mine: coming soon, expected £119.
  • Galaxy A37 5G: Samsung £139. Mine: coming soon, expected £119.
  • Galaxy A51: Samsung £134 (A51 5G £164). I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A52 5G: Samsung £139. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A52s 5G: Samsung £139. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A53 5G: Samsung £144. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A54 5G: Samsung £139. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A55 5G: Samsung £149. Mine: coming soon, expected £119.
  • Galaxy A56 5G: Samsung £119. Mine: coming soon, expected £109.
  • Galaxy A57 5G: Samsung £119. Mine: coming soon.
  • Galaxy A71: Samsung £154. I don't currently offer it (why).
  • Galaxy A72: Samsung £139. I don't currently offer it (why).

The A56 and A57 stand out: Samsung's price for each is £119, lower than for the A55 and the A37, even though they're newer or dearer phones. Samsung's prices don't simply follow the age or price of the phone.

Why some Galaxy A screens cost more than others

LCD or AMOLED

The A05s, A12, A13, A14, A22 5G, A23 and A32 5G have LCD screens, which are cheaper to make. From the A15 upwards, and on the 4G A22 and A32 and every A5x and A7x model, the screen is a Super AMOLED panel, which gives deeper blacks and better colour but costs more to replace. That's most of the difference between the cheapest and dearest models.

The part comes in its frame

Genuine Samsung screens for most of these models are supplied as a service pack: the display and touch layer already fitted into the phone's front frame. It's more part for your money than a bare panel, and it's one reason a genuine screen costs more than a copy. On some models the frame comes in several colours, so the replacement is matched to your phone.

The fingerprint reader

On the under-screen fingerprint models above, the fingerprint reader sits under the screen and has to be calibrated with Samsung's equipment after a new screen is fitted. Samsung's own repairers do that as part of the job. Not every independent repairer can, and a phone whose fingerprint reader stops working after a cheap screen repair isn't a saving. I explain this in more detail in fingerprint not working after a screen replacement.

Genuine, or a copy screen?

Copy screens, sometimes sold as "aftermarket" or "OLED-compatible", are what make the cheapest quotes possible. Some are decent. Others swap the AMOLED panel for an LCD one, which looks greyer, can be dimmer and can use more battery, and touch accuracy varies. If a quote looks far below the others, ask whether the screen is a genuine Samsung part. This guide explains how to tell the difference.

What's in Samsung's price, and what isn't

  • A genuine part, fitted by Samsung's authorised repairers, with the fingerprint reader calibrated where the model needs it.
  • Sometimes a battery. Samsung notes that some of its screen prices include a replacement battery.
  • An inspection fee. Samsung lists a £30 inspection fee for out-of-warranty devices, so check how it applies when you book.
  • Accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty. A cracked screen is damage, so it's a paid repair even on a new phone, unless you have Samsung Care+ or other insurance.

There's a fuller comparison of the two routes in Samsung's repair service vs an independent repairer.

Is it worth replacing the screen?

On most of these phones, yes. Most models from 2022 onwards are still getting Samsung's security updates, and a screen replacement costs a fraction of a new phone. The older models are the ones to think about: the A12, A13, A22 and A32 have reached the end of Samsung's security updates, so a £79 screen is a bigger share of what the phone is now worth. This list shows which models Samsung still updates, and this guide goes through every model.

How a screen repair works with me

You book and pay online, choosing your model and, where asked, its colour. Post the phone to me, and I fit a genuine Samsung screen, test the display, touch, cameras and sensors, and send it back insured and tracked. You pay the postage to me; the return is included. If I can't repair it, there's no repair fee and I refund what you paid, less return postage. Every repair has a 12-month warranty. All the models and prices are on the Samsung Galaxy A repair page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to repair a Samsung screen?

On the Galaxy A range, Samsung's own prices run from £114 to £164 depending on the model. Independent repairers who fit genuine screens typically charge somewhere between about £80 and £170, and copy screens can be cheaper.

Why is my A55 screen more expensive than an A16's?

The A55's screen is a larger, higher-spec AMOLED part, and it has an under-screen fingerprint reader that needs calibrating after a replacement. The A16's fingerprint reader is in the power key, so its screen job is simpler.

Does a screen replacement include a new battery?

Not usually from an independent repairer. Samsung notes that some of its own screen prices include a replacement battery, so check what your quote covers.

Is it cheaper to buy the screen and fit it myself?

The part is cheaper than a repair, and Samsung sells genuine parts for some models through its Self-Repair programme. But the back and screen are glued, and on the under-screen fingerprint models the reader must be calibrated afterwards. For most people a repair works out better value once tools, adhesive and the risk of a mistake are counted.
