Signs your Galaxy A37 needs a repair
- Cracked or shattered back glass
- Charger loose, or charging on and off
- Battery not lasting as long as it did
- Cracked screen (coming soon: see the screen section)
A Samsung Galaxy A37 screen replacement is coming soon, at an expected £119 with a genuine Samsung screen and the fingerprint reader calibrated; Samsung's own recommended price is £139. You can book the other repairs now: back glass is £49, a charging port £49 and a battery £59, all with genuine Samsung parts and a 12-month warranty. If your A37 is inside Samsung's warranty and has a fault rather than damage, go to Samsung first.
The Galaxy A37 5G went on sale in the UK in April 2026 at £399. It has a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen with an optical fingerprint reader underneath, Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and the back, a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging, and IP68 water resistance, a step up from the A36's IP67. Samsung has promised it six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates.
Which Galaxy A37 do I have?
The A37 is sold in the UK as a 5G phone, model number SM-A376B, which you'll find in Settings > About phone. It's a different phone from the A36 (SM-A366B), which has its own page. I'll ask for the model number when you book, and your phone's colour if you're booking back glass. This guide shows where to find it.
Galaxy A37 screen replacement
If you're here about a cracked A37 screen, here's where it stands. The A37's fingerprint reader is an optical sensor beneath the display. It's a separate part, moved to the new screen during a replacement, and it has to be calibrated to the screen it sits under. Samsung's repair manual for the A57, the A37's bigger sibling, says the optical fingerprint sensor must be calibrated whenever the screen is replaced, using Samsung's Self Repair Assistant app and a set of Samsung calibration tools. Without it, the fingerprint reader may be unreliable or stop working.
I'm setting up Samsung's calibration equipment for the A35, A36, A55 and A56, and I'll offer A37 screens as soon as I've confirmed it supports the A37 too. The expected price is £119 with a genuine Samsung screen in your phone's colour, £20 under Samsung's recommended £139. Plenty of repairers will fit an A37 screen today. Before you book anywhere, ask whether the screen is genuine and whether they calibrate the fingerprint reader afterwards.
If you need it fixed now, Samsung's repair service calibrates the fingerprint reader as part of the job, and a new phone's screen damage is a common reason to check whether you have Samsung Care+. This guide explains the fingerprint problem in detail, and this guide compares screen prices across the range.
Galaxy A37 back glass replacement
The A37's back is Gorilla Glass Victus+, and a flat drop onto a hard floor can crack it across even when the screen survives. A cracked back sheds splinters, lets dust in around the cameras and, on an IP68 phone, breaks the seal that keeps water out.
I warm the back until the adhesive releases, remove the broken glass, clean the old adhesive from the frame, fit a genuine Samsung back in your phone's colour and seal it with new adhesive. It's £49. This guide to cracked Galaxy A backs explains which models have glass.
Galaxy A37 battery replacement
A 2026 phone's battery is usually still healthy, and if it has failed on its own inside Samsung's warranty, Samsung will replace it free. For an out-of-warranty or damaged phone, a new battery is £59 with a genuine Samsung battery, against Samsung's £79. You can check its condition in Samsung Members under Support > Phone diagnostics > Battery status, and this guide explains the result.
To reach it, I warm the glass back and lift it off, ease the battery out without bending it, fit the new one and reseal the back with new adhesive. The screen and the fingerprint sensor aren't disturbed, and I check the fingerprint reader works before the phone goes back. This guide to battery lifespan covers the setting that helps a battery last longer.
Galaxy A37 charging port repair
The A37's USB-C port sits on a small separate charging board at the bottom of the phone. A worn, loose or damaged port is fixed by fitting a genuine replacement board. It's £49.
Try another cable and plug first, and check the port for lint with a torch. If the phone says moisture has been detected, let it dry fully and try again: the A37 blocks charging while it senses water in the port. This checklist for a Galaxy A that won't charge goes through the rest. I test charging, fast charging and a data connection before the phone goes back.
Water resistance after a repair
The A37 left the factory rated IP68. I reseal every phone with new adhesive, but once a phone has been opened I can't promise it keeps that rating, so treat it as not water-resistant after any repair, from me or anyone else.
Is it worth repairing a Galaxy A37?
Yes. It's a 2026 phone with years of updates ahead, and a £49 back or port costs very little next to a £399 phone. If it's inside Samsung's warranty and the fault isn't damage, use Samsung first. This guide compares every Galaxy A model.
