Frequently asked questions

Does Cloud Nine repair straighteners?
Cloud Nine charge £99 for an out-of-warranty repair, which includes a replacement iron if yours can't be fixed. Their standard warranty is one year, extended to three years on straighteners registered within 14 days of purchase. My repair is £39 for any fault.
Which Cloud Nine models do you repair?
The Original, Wide, Slim, Pro and Contouring irons. I don't repair the Touch, Micro or Cordless models.
Why is every repair the same price?
Most Cloud Nine faults come down to the cable, a fuse or a heater, so one flat price keeps it simple. The £39 covers parts, labour, the return postage and a PAT test, with a 12-month warranty.
My Cloud Nines keep switching themselves off. Is that a fault?
Not always. Cloud Nine irons go into hibernation after 30 minutes. Switch them off and on again to wake them. If they cut out sooner than that, or won't come back on, that's worth a repair.
Cloud Nine repairs I take on

Cloud Nine irons are well built and they last, which is exactly why it's worth fixing one rather than replacing it. Most faults come down to the same short list: the power cable, the thermal fuse, a heater, or the cable connector inside the handle. Whether yours is not heating, beeping, or dead or cutting out, it's a flat £39, and if you're not sure what's wrong, the any-fault repair covers it.

That's the whole price. Parts, labour, return postage, a PAT safety test and a 12-month warranty on the work. No diagnosis fee, no quote to approve, no parts bill afterwards. If I can't fix it there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back.

Cloud Nine's own repair service is £99. It's a fair price for what it includes, because they'll replace the iron if it can't be fixed and I can't offer that. But most irons can be fixed, and most people are paying £60 more for insurance against something that rarely happens. Cloud Nine repair cost compares the two properly.

I repair the Original, Wide, Slim, Pro and Contouring irons. I don't take on the Touch, the Micro or the Cordless — the parts situation on those doesn't let me do a job I'd put a 12-month warranty behind. Not sure which you've got? Which Cloud Nine straightener do I have? shows you how to tell.
