The Repair Works is run by me, Paul — and it comes from a simple frustration: too much good gear gets thrown away over a single, fixable fault.

I've been repairing electronics for over 25 years. In that time I built and sold a mobile phone and tablet repair company, and later founded and sold a device trade-in business — so I know this world inside out, from the workbench to the way the trade actually works. Across all of it, one thing never changed: I kept seeing perfectly good kit written off, or quoted silly money, when the real fault was often one small, repairable part.

These days I've stepped back from building and selling businesses to focus on the part I've always enjoyed most: the repairs themselves. The Repair Works is deliberately hands-on and personal — it's just me and the bench, which means every device gets my full attention and an honest assessment, not a conveyor belt.

That's the difference here. I work at component level, in-house — the fine repairs most shops send away, like HDMI ports, recapping, laser replacement and Hall-effect stick upgrades, I do myself. Your device is handled by one experienced specialist from the moment it arrives to the moment it's posted back. No middleman, no faceless drop-off counter.

I also believe in being straight with people. Clear prices up front wherever I can, an honest quote before any work where I can't, and a genuine answer if something isn't worth fixing. Every repair is backed by my no-fix-no-fee promise and a 12-month warranty, and everything is tested and safety checked before it comes back to you.
