Frequently asked questions

Which PS5 models do you repair?
The original PS5 (disc and digital), the PS5 Slim and the PS5 Pro, for most repairs. The disc drive repair is for the original PS5 only, and the no power repair can't be booked for the Pro yet. Each repair page lists the models it covers.
Does Sony repair a PS5 out of warranty?
Sony's UK out-of-warranty service is an exchange: you pay a fee and get a refurbished console back instead of your own. I repair your own PS5 at a fixed price. If yours is still under warranty, go to Sony first.
Will I lose my games and saves?
Repairs like an HDMI port, fan or USB port don't touch the console's storage, so your data normally stays where it is. Still, back up your saves to PS Plus cloud storage or a USB drive before you post it where you can, because no repair is completely risk-free for data.
What if the fault turns out to be software?
Some PS5s that won't start have a software fault rather than a hardware one. If that's what I find on a no power repair, I fix it for £49 instead of the full price and refund the difference.
More about PS5 repairs

A PS5 that stops working is rarely finished. Most faults come down to one part that has worn or failed, such as a damaged HDMI port, a worn disc drive laser, a heatsink packed with dust or a failed power supply, and replacing that part costs a fraction of a new console. I repair the original PS5, the PS5 Slim and the PS5 Pro, disc and digital, by post from anywhere in the UK.

The repairs I do most are HDMI port repairs for a console with no picture, overheating repairs for a console that runs loud or shuts itself down, no power repairs for a console that won't turn on, and disc drive repairs on the original PS5. I also replace worn fans, repair fan connectors damaged during cleaning, and fix loose or broken USB ports.

Every repair has a fixed, all-in price that includes parts and tracked return postage. You pay to post your console to me. Once the work is done, I test the console for an hour running a demanding game before it's posted back, and every repair is covered by a 12-month warranty. If I can't repair it, it's no fix, no fee: I refund what you paid, less return postage. If I find a different fault from the one you booked, I'll tell you and quote before doing anything more.

Not sure what's wrong? The free checks are worth trying first. Start with PS5 no signal, PS5 won't turn on or PS5 overheating. They'll often tell you what the fault is, and sometimes fix it for free. When you're ready to send your console, how to pack a PS5 for posting will help it arrive safely.

I'll always tell you honestly if a repair isn't worth doing, for example on the PS5 Slim and Pro disc drive, where Sony's own replacement drive is the better buy.
