Samsung Galaxy A27 Repair

Signs your Galaxy A27 needs a repair

  • Cracked screen, lines or a black display after a drop
  • Cracked or shattered back glass
  • Charger loose, or charging on and off
  • Battery not lasting as long as it did

A Samsung Galaxy A27 5G screen replacement costs £99 by post, with a genuine Samsung screen and a 12-month warranty. Back glass is £49, a battery £49 and a charging port £49. Samsung charges £79 for an A27 battery, and publishes no fixed screen price for the A27 yet. If your A27 is still inside Samsung's warranty and has a fault rather than damage, go to Samsung first.

The Galaxy A27 5G is Samsung's 2026 update to the A26, and it's on sale in the UK from £319. It has a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen and a glass back, both Gorilla Glass Victus+, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, IP64 dust and splash resistance, and the fingerprint reader in the power key. Samsung has promised it six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates.

Which Galaxy A27 do I have?

Go to Settings > About phone and check the model number. The A27 sold in the UK is SM-A276B, and a /DS or /DSN on the end just means dual SIM. It's a different phone from the A26 (SM-A266B), which has its own page. I'll ask for the model number when you book, and your phone's colour for back glass. This guide shows where to find it.

Galaxy A27 screen replacement

The A27's AMOLED screen is bright and sharp, and when it's damaged it tends to show it clearly: a green or pink line, a black blot that spreads, a flickering patch, or a display that stays black while the phone still rings. Cracked glass with a working picture is worth fixing before the damage reaches the panel underneath.

I fit a genuine Samsung screen, supplied as a service part already fitted in its frame, so you keep the A27's full brightness, colour and 120Hz refresh rate. Copy screens for recent Galaxy A models often swap the AMOLED panel for a cheaper LCD one, which looks greyer and uses more battery. This guide explains how to tell a genuine screen from a copy.

The fingerprint reader is in the power key, not under the screen, so a new screen doesn't affect it. That's one of the reasons the A27 screen is bookable now while the A37's is still coming soon. Before the phone goes back, I test touch across the whole screen, the display and brightness, the front camera, the earpiece and the proximity sensor, and check the fingerprint reader.

It's £99, the same as the A26. This guide compares screen prices across the Galaxy A range, including Samsung's own.

Galaxy A27 back glass replacement

Like the A26, the A27 has a glass back rather than plastic, and it's Gorilla Glass Victus+, the same toughened glass as the front. It's tough, but a flat drop onto a hard floor can still crack it across even when the screen survives. A cracked back sheds sharp splinters and lets dust in around the cameras.

I remove the broken glass, clean the old adhesive from the frame, fit a genuine Samsung back in your phone's colour and seal it with new adhesive. It's £49. This guide to cracked Galaxy A backs explains which models have glass and which are plastic.

Galaxy A27 battery replacement

The A27 is new enough that most batteries are still in good health, but heavy use and fast charging take a toll sooner on some phones than others. Samsung Members shows the battery's condition under Support > Phone diagnostics > Battery status, and this guide explains the result. If it's inside Samsung's warranty and the battery has failed on its own, Samsung is the place to go.

For an out-of-warranty or damaged phone, I warm the glass back until the adhesive releases, lift it off without cracking it, work the glued-in battery out without bending it, fit a genuine Samsung battery and reseal the back with new adhesive. It's £49, against Samsung's £79. This guide to battery lifespan covers the battery protection setting that helps a new one last longer.

Galaxy A27 charging port repair

The A27's USB-C port sits on a small charging board at the bottom of the phone, not soldered to the main board, so a worn, loose or damaged port is fixed by fitting a genuine replacement board.

Before booking, try another cable and plug, and check the port for lint with a torch. This checklist for a Galaxy A that won't charge goes through the rest. If it still won't charge reliably, the charging port repair is £49, and I test charging, fast charging and a data connection before it goes back.

Water resistance after a repair

The A27 left the factory rated IP64, which means it's protected against dust and splashes, not submersion. Every repair that opens the phone is resealed with new adhesive, but I can't promise the original rating afterwards, so treat it as not water-resistant after any repair.

Is it worth repairing a Galaxy A27?

Yes, in almost every case. It's a 2026 phone with six years of promised security updates ahead of it, and a £49 back or battery or a £99 screen is a small share of what it cost new. If it's still inside Samsung's warranty and the fault isn't damage, use Samsung's free repair instead. This guide compares every Galaxy A model.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Galaxy A27 screen replacement cost?
£99 by post, with a genuine Samsung screen and a 12-month warranty.
Does the Galaxy A27 have a glass back?
Yes. The A27's back is Gorilla Glass Victus+, like the A26's. A genuine back glass replacement is £49.
Will my fingerprint still work after a new screen?
Yes. The A27's fingerprint reader is in the power key, not under the screen, so a screen replacement doesn't affect it.
Is the A27 screen the same as the A26's?
No. They're different phones and the screens are different parts. I fit the genuine A27 screen.
My A27 is still under Samsung's warranty. Should I use you?
If the fault isn't damage, go to Samsung first, because a repair by anyone else ends Samsung's warranty. For a cracked screen or back, compare Samsung's quote with my fixed price.
Is the Galaxy A27 waterproof?
No. It's rated IP64, which covers dust and splashes, not being submerged. After any repair, treat it as not water-resistant.

About this service

How does your mail-in repair service work?
Three steps: book and pay for your repair online, post your item to me using the packing instructions I email you, and I repair it, test it, and send it back tracked. You'll get updates as it moves through each stage.
What is your no-fix-no-fee promise?
Payment is taken upfront at booking. If I can't fix your item, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you. Assessment bookings work differently: the £4.99 covers return postage and comes off the repair if you go ahead, but isn't refunded if you decide not to or it can't be repaired.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Every repair carries a 12-month workmanship warranty against the same fault returning. If it does, I'll put it right.
How long will my repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 1-3 working days of arrival, then posted back by tracked post. If a part needs ordering, I'll tell you as soon as I've diagnosed it and give you a realistic date. Diagnostic-led jobs take a little longer if I'm waiting on your approval of a quote.
How do I package my item safely to post it?
I send clear packing guidance when you book. In short: wrap the item well, use plenty of padding, and a sturdy box — the return leg is insured and tracked, and good packing on the way in protects your item too.
Where do I send my item?
Your postage address is included in the confirmation email after you book — you don't post anything until you've booked, so your item is always matched to your order.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes — I run a mail-in repair service, so you can send your item from anywhere in the UK. There's nothing local you need to find.
What if my item turns out to be unrepairable?
I'll tell you honestly and, where the fault allows, offer an alternative. If I can't fix it, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you.
