Signs your Galaxy A57 needs a repair

  • Cracked or shattered back glass
  • Charger loose, or charging on and off
  • Battery not lasting as long as it did
  • Cracked screen (coming soon: see the screen section)

A Samsung Galaxy A57 screen replacement from Samsung costs £119, its recommended price, and Samsung calibrates the fingerprint reader as part of the job. With me, A57 screens are coming soon. You can book the other repairs now: back glass is £59, a battery £59 and a charging port £59, all with genuine Samsung parts and a 12-month warranty. If your A57 is inside Samsung's warranty and has a fault rather than damage, go to Samsung first.

The Galaxy A57 5G went on sale in the UK in April 2026 from £529. It's slimmer and lighter than the A56, with an aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back, a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen with an optical fingerprint reader underneath, a 5,000mAh battery and IP68 water resistance. Samsung has promised it six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates.

Which Galaxy A57 do I have?

The A57 is sold in the UK as a 5G phone, model number SM-A576B, which you'll find in Settings > About phone. It's a different phone from the A56 (SM-A566B), which has its own page. I'll ask for the model number when you book, and your phone's colour for back glass. This guide shows where to find it.

Galaxy A57 screen replacement

Here's the straight answer on a cracked A57 screen. The A57's fingerprint reader is an optical sensor beneath the display, and Samsung's repair manual for the A57 says it must be calibrated every time the screen is replaced. The same manual lists a touchscreen and proximity sensor calibration for a new screen too. It's done with Samsung's Self Repair Assistant app and a set of Samsung calibration tools, and without it the fingerprint reader may be unreliable or stop working.

I'm setting up that equipment, and A57 screens will follow once it's in place. I'm not quoting a price yet. Samsung's own recommended price is £119, which is unusually low for a phone at this price: it's less than Samsung charges for the cheaper A37. A genuine A57 screen is the dearest part in the Galaxy A range, so for now Samsung's repair service is very good value for an A57 screen, and it calibrates the fingerprint reader as part of the job. If you'd rather use another repairer, ask whether the screen is genuine and whether they calibrate the fingerprint reader afterwards.

Galaxy A57 back glass replacement

The A57's back is Gorilla Glass Victus+ in an aluminium frame. A flat drop can crack it across even when the front survives, and a cracked back sheds splinters, lets dust in around the cameras and breaks the IP68 seal.

Samsung's manual has the back cover warmed for a few minutes to soften its adhesive, and that's how I lift it: evenly, without flexing the frame. I remove the broken glass, clean the old adhesive from the frame, fit a genuine Samsung back in your phone's colour and seal it with new adhesive. It's £59. This guide to cracked Galaxy A backs explains which models have glass.

Galaxy A57 battery replacement

The A57 is new enough that its battery is probably fine, and if it has failed on its own inside Samsung's warranty, Samsung will replace it free. For an out-of-warranty or damaged phone, a battery is £59 with a genuine Samsung battery, against Samsung's £79.

The A57 is one of the more repair-friendly Galaxy A phones: its battery is held with stretch-release adhesive strips that pull out cleanly, rather than glue that has to be prised apart. I fit the new battery, reseal the back with new adhesive, and check charging and the fingerprint reader before the phone goes back. The screen and fingerprint sensor aren't disturbed. You can check your battery's condition in Samsung Members under Support > Phone diagnostics > Battery status, and this guide explains the result.

Galaxy A57 charging port repair

On the A57 the USB-C port is a separate module at the bottom of the phone with the main microphone built into it. A worn, loose or damaged port is fixed by fitting a genuine replacement module, and a microphone that callers can't hear is often fixed by the same part. It's £59.

Try another cable and plug first, and check the port for lint with a torch. If the phone says moisture has been detected, let it dry fully: the A57 blocks charging while it senses water in the port. This checklist for a Galaxy A that won't charge goes through the rest. I test charging, fast charging, the microphone and a data connection before the phone goes back.

Water resistance after a repair

The A57 left the factory rated IP68. I reseal every phone with new adhesive, but once a phone has been opened I can't promise it keeps that rating, so treat it as not water-resistant after any repair, from me or anyone else.

Is it worth repairing a Galaxy A57?

Yes. It's a £529 phone from 2026 with years of updates ahead, so any repair is worth doing. If it's inside Samsung's warranty and the fault isn't damage, use Samsung's free repair. For a cracked screen right now, Samsung's £119 is the price to beat. This guide compares every Galaxy A model.

£59 by post, with a genuine Samsung back in your phone's colour and a 12-month warranty.

About this service

How does your mail-in repair service work?
Three steps: book and pay for your repair online, post your item to me using the packing instructions I email you, and I repair it, test it, and send it back tracked. You'll get updates as it moves through each stage.
What is your no-fix-no-fee promise?
Payment is taken upfront at booking. If I can't fix your item, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you. Assessment bookings work differently: the £4.99 covers return postage and comes off the repair if you go ahead, but isn't refunded if you decide not to or it can't be repaired.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Every repair carries a 12-month workmanship warranty against the same fault returning. If it does, I'll put it right.
How long will my repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 1-3 working days of arrival, then posted back by tracked post. If a part needs ordering, I'll tell you as soon as I've diagnosed it and give you a realistic date. Diagnostic-led jobs take a little longer if I'm waiting on your approval of a quote.
How do I package my item safely to post it?
I send clear packing guidance when you book. In short: wrap the item well, use plenty of padding, and a sturdy box — the return leg is insured and tracked, and good packing on the way in protects your item too.
Where do I send my item?
Your postage address is included in the confirmation email after you book — you don't post anything until you've booked, so your item is always matched to your order.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes — I run a mail-in repair service, so you can send your item from anywhere in the UK. There's nothing local you need to find.
What if my item turns out to be unrepairable?
I'll tell you honestly and, where the fault allows, offer an alternative. If I can't fix it, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you.
