A Samsung Galaxy A13 screen replacement costs £79 by post, with a genuine Samsung screen and a 12-month warranty. A battery is £49, a charging port £49 and a back cover £39. Samsung's own recommended price for an A13 screen is £119, and £79 for a battery.

The Galaxy A13 came out in 2022 as one of Samsung's most affordable phones, at £179. It has a 6.6-inch LCD screen, a 5,000mAh battery, a plastic back and a fingerprint reader built into the power key. Most of its faults are the ordinary wear and damage of a phone that's been in daily use for a few years: a dropped screen, a tired battery, a worn port.

Which Galaxy A13 do I have?

Go to Settings > About phone and check the model number. The standard Galaxy A13 is SM-A135F, and that's the phone this page covers. There was also a Galaxy A13 5G (SM-A136B), which is a different phone with different parts. If yours is the 5G, get in touch before booking. I'll ask for your phone's colour when you book, because genuine back covers are colour-matched. This guide shows where to find your model number.

Galaxy A13 screen replacement

The A13 uses an LCD panel with a touch layer bonded to the glass. When it's dropped, the glass can crack while the picture carries on, or the LCD can fail behind it: black ink-like patches that spread, coloured lines, or a black screen while the phone still rings and vibrates. Sometimes a strip of the screen stops responding to touch.

I fit a genuine Samsung screen, supplied as a service part already fitted in its frame. Cheap copy screens for the A13 are easy to find, and the difference usually shows in brightness, colour and how accurately touch responds. This guide explains how to tell a genuine screen from a copy.

The fingerprint reader is in the power key, so a new screen doesn't affect it. Before the phone goes back, I test touch across the whole screen, the display and brightness, the front camera, the earpiece and the proximity sensor, and check the fingerprint reader still unlocks the phone.

It's £79. Samsung's recommended price for an A13 screen is £119, and there's a model-by-model comparison in what a Galaxy A screen replacement costs.

Galaxy A13 battery replacement

A battery that's a few years old holds much less charge than it did. On an A13 that means a phone that won't last the day, jumps from 30% to off, or only stays on while it's plugged in. You can check its condition in Samsung Members under Support > Phone diagnostics > Battery status. This guide explains what the result means.

The A13's back cover is clipped on with a little adhesive, and the battery underneath is glued in. I release the adhesive carefully without bending the cell, fit a genuine Samsung 5,000mAh battery and test charging before the phone goes back. It's £49, against Samsung's £79.

A new battery restores battery life. It won't make a slow phone quicker: on an older A13, lag is usually down to storage, apps or software. This guide to fast battery drain helps you work out which you've got.

Galaxy A13 charging port repair

The A13's USB-C port isn't soldered to the main board. It sits on a small charging board at the bottom of the phone, and on the A13 that same board also carries the microphone and the headphone jack. So a new charging board fixes a worn or damaged port, and it also fixes a dead headphone jack or a microphone that callers can't hear, when the fault is on that board.

Before booking, try another cable and plug, and look into the port with a torch. Pocket lint packs down in the bottom of the port over the years and stops the plug seating properly. This checklist for a Galaxy A that won't charge goes through each step.

If it still won't charge reliably, the charging port repair is £49 with a genuine Samsung charging board. I test charging, the headphone jack, the microphone and a data connection before the phone goes back.

Galaxy A13 back cover replacement

The A13 has a plastic back. It's tougher than glass, but it can crack at the corners or around the camera after a drop, and a broken back lets dust in. I replace it with a genuine Samsung back cover in your phone's colour. It's £39. The A13 has no water-resistance rating, so there's nothing to lose there, but it's still worth keeping it away from water.

Is it worth repairing a Galaxy A13?

It depends on the repair and on how much longer you want the phone. The A13 is now at the end of Samsung's security update period, which ran for about four years from its 2022 launch. That doesn't stop it working, but it won't get further security fixes. A £49 battery is good value if you're happy with the phone and just want it to last the day again. A £79 screen is a bigger share of what an A13 is worth now, so compare it with the cost of a newer phone before you decide. This guide weighs up every Galaxy A model.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Galaxy A13 screen replacement cost?
£79 by post, with a genuine Samsung screen and a 12-month warranty. Samsung's own recommended price is £119.
My A13's headphone jack stopped working. Can you fix it?
Usually, yes. On the A13 the headphone jack is on the same small board as the charging port and microphone, so the charging port repair replaces all three. I check the fault when the phone arrives and tell you if it's anything else.
Will my fingerprint still work after a new screen?
Yes. The A13's fingerprint reader is in the power key, not under the screen, so a screen replacement doesn't affect it.
Do you repair the Galaxy A13 5G?
The A13 5G (SM-A136B) is a different phone with different parts. Get in touch before booking and I'll tell you what I can do.
Is it worth putting a new battery in an A13?
If you're happy with the phone and the battery is the problem, yes. At £49 it's much cheaper than a new phone. Bear in mind the A13 has come to the end of Samsung's security updates.
My phone's back is lifting. What should I do?
Stop charging it and contact me before posting it. A back that's lifting is often caused by a swollen battery, which needs handling carefully.

About this service

How does your mail-in repair service work?
Three steps: book and pay for your repair online, post your item to me using the packing instructions I email you, and I repair it, test it, and send it back tracked. You'll get updates as it moves through each stage.
What is your no-fix-no-fee promise?
Payment is taken upfront at booking. If I can't fix your item, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you. Assessment bookings work differently: the £4.99 covers return postage and comes off the repair if you go ahead, but isn't refunded if you decide not to or it can't be repaired.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Every repair carries a 12-month workmanship warranty against the same fault returning. If it does, I'll put it right.
How long will my repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 1-3 working days of arrival, then posted back by tracked post. If a part needs ordering, I'll tell you as soon as I've diagnosed it and give you a realistic date. Diagnostic-led jobs take a little longer if I'm waiting on your approval of a quote.
How do I package my item safely to post it?
I send clear packing guidance when you book. In short: wrap the item well, use plenty of padding, and a sturdy box — the return leg is insured and tracked, and good packing on the way in protects your item too.
Where do I send my item?
Your postage address is included in the confirmation email after you book — you don't post anything until you've booked, so your item is always matched to your order.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes — I run a mail-in repair service, so you can send your item from anywhere in the UK. There's nothing local you need to find.
What if my item turns out to be unrepairable?
I'll tell you honestly and, where the fault allows, offer an alternative. If I can't fix it, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you.
