About this controller
This is a pre-owned Microsoft Xbox Wireless Controller for Xbox Series X|S (Model 1914) that I've refurbished and fitted with a pair of TMR sticks: the official wireless Microsoft controller with drift engineered out. Standard sticks read their position through contacts that wear as the stick moves, and that wear is what causes most stick drift. TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sticks read position magnetically, like Hall effect, so there's no contact track to wear down, and they read it at a finer resolution.
Many third-party drift-resistant Xbox controllers are wired. This one keeps the official wireless controller, with its feel, its pairing and its compatibility, and upgrades the sticks. It works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC, pairs over Bluetooth with compatible phones and tablets, and runs on 2 AA batteries (included) or a compatible rechargeable pack, with USB-C for wired play.
What I've done to it
Fitted a pair of TMR sticks in place of the standard ones.
Opened and cleaned the controller inside and out, including the buttons, bumpers and triggers.
Cleaned and checked the battery contacts, as corrosion is common on used Xbox controllers.
Replaced any worn or faulty parts.
Tested everything before listing it, as below.
How it's tested
-
Real-game test
Every controller is played on a real game before it's listed, so the sticks, triggers and buttons are tested the way you'll actually use them.
-
Stick Drift Test
I run both sticks through my Stick Drift Test, the same free tool you can use at home, to check each stick settles back to centre.
-
Every function checked
I check A, B, X and Y, both bumpers, both triggers including the impulse trigger rumble, the D-pad, the View, Menu, Share and Xbox buttons, pairing, both main rumble motors, the 3.5mm headset jack, USB-C and Bluetooth.
Grades
Grades describe how the shell looks, nothing else. Every grade gets the same stick upgrade, the same testing and the same 12-month warranty.
Cosmetic only
Excellent
Very light signs of use at most. You might spot a faint mark on the shell if you look closely.
Good
Visible signs of use, such as light scratches or scuffs on the shell. It works the same as Excellent: same sticks, same testing, same warranty.
In the box
The controller and 2 AA batteries.
12-month warranty
Your controller is covered for 12 months from delivery. If it develops a fault in that time, including stick drift, tell me and I'll repair it. I'll cover the postage. If I can't repair it, I'll replace it or refund you. The warranty doesn't cover accidental damage, liquid damage, or a controller that's been opened or repaired by someone else.
It's on top of your rights under consumer law, not instead of them.
Delivery & returns
Royal Mail Tracked 48 is free, or choose Tracked 24 (£3) or Special Delivery (£11). UK addresses only. I'll email you the tracking number when it's on its way.
Ships within 1 working day. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
Changed your mind? You can cancel within 14 days of delivery, for any reason. Tell me, then send it back in the condition you received it. You pay the return postage, and I refund what you paid, including the standard delivery.
Faulty? If it arrives faulty, or develops a fault under warranty, tell me and I'll arrange the return at my cost.
