Xbox Series X & S USB Port Repair

£69

No fix, no fee · 12-month warranty · Insured, tracked returns

Signs you need this repair

  • A USB port is loose, bent or physically broken
  • Accessories work in one port but not another
  • Devices only work when the plug is held at an angle
  • A controller won't charge from one port but charges from another
  • The port was damaged by a fall or a pulled cable

An Xbox Series X|S USB port repair is for a port that has been damaged or stopped working. The Series X and Series S both have one USB port at the front and two at the back. They take a lot of use: controller cables, headsets, charging docks and external drives are plugged in and out, and a cable that's tripped over or yanked can damage the port.

How I repair it depends on the port. The front port sits on a small board inside the console. The rear ports are soldered to a board at the back. I either replace the small board or remove the damaged port and solder a new one in its place, then test the port for charging and data. Once it's back together, I test the console for an hour running a demanding game before it's posted back.

The £69 covers one port, front or rear, including parts and tracked return postage, and the work is covered by a 12-month warranty. If more than one port is damaged, I'll quote for the others before doing any work. If the fault turns out not to be the port, I'll tell you what I've found and quote. If you'd rather not go ahead, it's no fix, no fee: I refund what you paid, less return postage.

Before booking, try the free checks in my guide to an Xbox USB port not working. A cable, a setting or the device itself is sometimes the real cause.

Frequently asked questions

Which ports do you repair?
Any USB port on the Xbox Series X or Series S, front or rear. The £69 covers one port.
My controller won't charge from the Xbox. Is the port broken?
Not necessarily. Try another cable, another port, and another device first. My guide below covers the checks. If the controller won't charge anywhere, the controller's own port may be the problem.
What if more than one port is damaged?
I'll quote for the others before doing any work.
How do you test it?
I test the repaired port for charging and data, then the console runs a demanding game for an hour on my bench before it's posted back.
Will I lose my games or saves?
No. The repair is to the port only. Your storage, games and saves aren't touched.

About this service

How does your mail-in repair service work?
Three steps: book and pay for your repair online, post your item to me using the packing instructions I email you, and I repair it, test it, and send it back tracked. You'll get updates as it moves through each stage.
What is your no-fix-no-fee promise?
Payment is taken upfront at booking. If I can't fix your item, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you. Assessment bookings work differently: the £4.99 covers return postage and comes off the repair if you go ahead, but isn't refunded if you decide not to or it can't be repaired.
Do your repairs come with a warranty?
Yes. Every repair carries a 12-month workmanship warranty against the same fault returning. If it does, I'll put it right.
How long will my repair take?
Most repairs are completed within 1-3 working days of arrival, then posted back by tracked post. If a part needs ordering, I'll tell you as soon as I've diagnosed it and give you a realistic date. Diagnostic-led jobs take a little longer if I'm waiting on your approval of a quote.
How do I package my item safely to post it?
I send clear packing guidance when you book. In short: wrap the item well, use plenty of padding, and a sturdy box — the return leg is insured and tracked, and good packing on the way in protects your item too.
Where do I send my item?
Your postage address is included in the confirmation email after you book — you don't post anything until you've booked, so your item is always matched to your order.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes — I run a mail-in repair service, so you can send your item from anywhere in the UK. There's nothing local you need to find.
What if my item turns out to be unrepairable?
I'll tell you honestly and, where the fault allows, offer an alternative. If I can't fix it, there's no repair fee — I refund what you paid, less £4.99 return postage to send it back to you.
