Signs you need this repair

- Grinding, clicking or scraping from the drive
- A disc won't go in, won't eject, or is stuck inside
- Blu-rays fail while other discs still play
An Xbox Series X disc drive repair is for a console that won't read games or films any more: discs that aren't recognised, games that start to load and then fail, or a drive that grinds, clicks, or won't take or eject a disc. The most common cause is a worn laser, the part that reads every disc. Mechanical faults in the drive come next.
Here's why an Xbox disc drive repair isn't as simple as swapping in a new drive. The Series X drive has a small control board that's paired to the console's main board. A drive from another console, or a brand new one, won't work on its own, because its board isn't paired to yours. So I keep your drive's original board, and replace the laser or the drive mechanism around it. The pairing stays intact, and discs read again.
The £94 covers not reading discs, grinding, stuck discs, and a drive that won't take or eject a disc. It includes parts and tracked return postage, and the work is covered by a 12-month warranty. I test the drive with game discs, Blu-ray and DVD, then test the console for an hour running a demanding game before it's posted back. If the drive's paired board itself has failed, it can't be replaced, so it's no fix, no fee: I refund what you paid, less return postage.
This repair is for the Xbox Series X disc edition. The Series S and the Series X Digital have no disc drive. Before booking, it's worth trying the free checks in my guide to an Xbox Series X not reading discs. A dirty disc or a software hiccup is sometimes all it is.
