The PS5 Slim and the PS5 Pro aren't just smaller or faster versions of the original PS5. Inside, they're laid out quite differently. So if you own one and it's showing "no signal", it's reasonable to wonder whether the HDMI port repair is different too, or whether a repairer who fixes the original can fix yours.
The short answer: the repair itself is the same careful job, and I repair all three models at the same price. Here's what's different, what isn't, and what to check first.
Which PS5 do you have?
Every PS5 has a model number on its label, starting with CFI-:
Original PS5: CFI-1000, CFI-1100 or CFI-1200 series
PS5 Slim: CFI-2000 series
PS5 Pro: CFI-7000 series
The original PS5 and the PS5 Slim come in disc and digital editions. The PS5 Pro is sold without a disc drive, and it and the digital Slim can take the add-on disc drive. None of that makes any difference to the HDMI port.
Not sure which model you have?
If you can't find the label, the shape of the console usually tells you:
Original PS5: the largest of the three, with tall white side panels that flare out at the top, and a black centre section between them.
PS5 Slim: noticeably smaller, with the white cover split into four panels, a glossy top section and a matte lower section on each side.
PS5 Pro: similar in size to the Slim, but with black stripes running across the middle of the white panels.
If you're still not sure, choose the "not sure" option when you book. The price is the same whichever model it turns out to be, so there's nothing to get wrong. I'll check the model when the console arrives and note it on your repair.
Knowing the model helps me before the console even arrives. Each one comes apart differently, so I can have the right tools and the right replacement port ready.
What's different inside
The layout. Each model has its own mainboard design, with components in different places and a different route in from the case. Getting to the board on a Slim or Pro means a different teardown from the original, with different screws, panels and connectors, even though the HDMI port sits in the same place on the back.
The size and weight. The Slim and Pro are smaller and lighter than the original. That makes them easier to post, but it also means everything is more tightly packed inside, which rewards care during the teardown and rebuild.
The cooling. Each model has its own cooling design around the processor. On any model, the HDMI port repair doesn't disturb the liquid metal cooling on the processor.
What's the same
The port itself. All three models use a high-bandwidth HDMI port on the back, soldered to the mainboard by fine pins and heavier anchor points. The repair is the same in principle on every model: remove the damaged port with hot air, clean and prepare the pads, and solder in a new port under magnification.
How ports get damaged. Slim and Pro ports fail in exactly the same way as the original's: a cable knocked or yanked, a console moved while plugged in, or a fall. The Slim's smaller size and lighter weight make it easier to pull off a shelf by its cables, so it's worth being careful where the cables run.
The symptoms. A damaged port on a Slim or Pro gives the same signs: "no signal", a black screen while the console runs normally, a flickering picture, a loose plug, or visibly bent pins. I've set out how to check for these in how to tell if your PS5 HDMI port is damaged.
The free checks come first. Before assuming the port has failed, rule out the cable, the TV and the video settings. Swap to a known-good Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, try another TV or input, and reset the video output in Safe Mode. The steps are the same on every model. See PS5 no signal: what to check first.
The same price for every model
I repair the HDMI port on the original PS5, PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro, disc and digital editions, all at the same price: £75 all-in, including parts and tracked return postage. When you book the PS5 HDMI port repair, you choose your model, so I know which console to expect. If you're not sure which you have, there's an option for that, and I'll check the model when it arrives.
The same policies apply on every model:
HDMI chip: if the fault turns out to be the HDMI chip rather than the port, I don't replace that chip, so it's no fix, no fee. I refund what you paid, less return postage.
Board damage: if the port has been torn off hard enough to damage the board underneath, I'll quote for the extra work before doing anything more.
Warranty: every repair is covered by a 12-month warranty.

Is a Slim or Pro worth repairing?
Yes, even more so than the original. They're newer, and the Pro in particular costs a great deal to replace, so a £75 port repair is a small fraction of the console's value. You also keep your games, saves and settings, which the repair doesn't touch.
My recommendation
If your PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro shows "no signal", work through the free checks first. They're the same on every model. If it still has no picture in Safe Mode with a good cable and TV, or the port is visibly damaged, it's very likely the port, and the repair is the same careful job as on the original, at the same price. Pick your model when you book, and when you're ready to send it in, how to pack a PS5 for posting covers getting it to me safely.
